Garretts Bodyworks Limited is a prestige accident repair centre operating since 1979. Our registered address is Garrett House, Charfleets Road, Canvey Island, Essex SS8 0PQ.
Personal information such as your name, email address, telephone number and address. We may collect this information directly from yourself, or a work provider acting on your behalf and to whom you have already passed this information to. Also, we will hold information about your vehicle and insurance. If payment is required, we will ask for credit card or other payment information at the point of transaction but we use a card payment provider and no payment details will be stored by us. If we provide a courtesy car, we will need sight of your driving licence details and ID. This is required before entering into a contractural arrangement to carry out repairs to a vehicle owned by you.
Your information is necessary to undertake the repair work that we have been authorised to carry out. This will possibly include address details for the collection/delivery of your vehicle. Your details will be used for contacting you regarding your vehicle through the progress of booking in, repair queries, updates, completion and re-delivery.
We do not carry out direct marketing or pass or sell your information to anyone for any purpose.
We have a legitimate reason for maintaining sufficient records of our work, the vehicle and customer details, in order to identify any guarantee query we receive in the future.
We do not carry out any automated processing with regard to any of your personal data.
We may need to share your information with some of our service partners, including IT, delivery and vehicle leasing providers, some administrative and data capture activities. However, we only allow access to your personal data once it is confirmed they have data protection and security controls in place. It must also be confirmed they will only use such data to provide a service to us and to you.
Apart from mentioned above, we will not disclose your personal information to any third party, except as set out below:

A record of your personal information is kept for a period necessary for our legal obligation under UK law (7 years). No longer
You have the right to request a copy of any information we hold about you. This is known as a ‘Subject Access Request’. If we agree that this is a valid request, this information will be provided to you free of any charge and as quickly as possible but within 30 days of our receipt or your written request. However, we may require your proof of identity.
We will update any information we hold about you upon your request. The accuracy of your information is important to us.
